Position Overview

The Revenue Cycle Practice Consultant possesses a deep understanding of all areas of Revenue Cycle for Community Health Centers and Acute Care centers and is proficient in Epic electronic health records. The consultant is responsible for providing member Revenue Cycle staff with training and tools to strengthen and improve their Revenue Cycle operations and metrics. The Revenue Cycle Practice Consultant provides trainings, technical assistance and collaborates with OCHIN staff and OCHIN members to optimize all aspects of Revenue Cycle including increasing collections, decreasing the cost to collect, and improving patient, staff, and stakeholder satisfaction in the Revenue Cycle process.

This is a dynamic position with a high degree of independence and flexibility, allowing space for an entrepreneurial spirit to pursue their passions. The person in this role will possess a customer-service orientation, with enthusiasm for finding solutions and connecting resources in support of health center goals. He or she will thrive in a fast-paced environment and excel at finding solutions to complicated questions. Excellent training and meeting-facilitation skills are a must with the ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders.

The Revenue Cycle Practice Consultant will seek efficient and proven solutions to systemic Revenue Cycle obstacles, leveraging that knowledge to connect resources and best practices to all aspects of Revenue Cycle staff.


Essential Duties

  • Plan, coordinate, facilitate, and evaluate learning sessions/trainings for members in collaboration with project partners including curriculum design, agenda setting, and trainer identification.
  • Lead in the design, development and implementation of Revenue Cycle improvement curricula, including multi-day bootcamps, full and part day webinars, and 1-2 hour webinars.
  • Design and deliver trainings via multiple modalities, including in-person onsite consultations, one-on-one, group setting, virtually and by phone.
  • Serve as a resource for members on key content areas - connecting members with the tools and resources they need to reach their goals.
  • Provide technical assistance to members around identified needs.
  • Work intensively with health center teams participating in assigned projects to refine their Revenue Cycle and implement best practice concepts.
  • Design, develop, and implement member assessments/consults around Revenue Cycle performance and TA needs to identify opportunities for improvements and possible solutions.
  • Lead in the coordination of member consultations, including planning meeting logistics, communicating with members, preparing content for meetings, and coordinating follow-up.
  • Travel to member sites as needed for consultations, assessments, trainings, etc. up to 50%, but flexing based on operational needs.
  • OCHIN organizational metrics and goals are positively impacted by activities.
  • Team-specific Revenue Cycle metrics have been identified and are updated regularly, are aligned with OCHIN organizational metrics and goals, and are used to drive decision making.
  • Team processes are documented, are understood by team members, followed, and are aligned with OCHIN organizational policies and processes.
  • Positive and constructive feedback is provided in a timely manner; the organization's corrective action guidelines are followed as needed.
  • The culture and values of the organization are consistently demonstrated.
  • Active participation is demonstrated as applicable within operational and strategic meetings; information is shared with relevant parties in a timely and effective manner

  • Consistently meet or exceed OCHIN's service level expectations (SLEs) with regards to communicating with members and customers
  • Appropriately escalate barriers, risks, and issues in accordance with OCHIN's escalation policy
  • Lead change by modeling behavior and influencing partners
  • Collaborate with internal and/or external partners to ensure effective integration of improvements and to foster organizational learning
  • Actively pursue continuous learning and professional growth

Requirements
  • Minimum of 10 years of Revenue Cycle and financial experience in similar or relevant role in safety net organizations. 20 Years of applicable experience desired.

  • Desired Certifications include CPA, BS Accounting, MS Accounting
  • Strong understanding of revenue cycle and financial principles.
  • Experience with EHR software is required, EPIC expertise is required. Specifically, PB/HB Resolute module or experience with PB/HB Claims or SBO is required. Experience in Prelude, Cadence, Grand Central, and EpicCare modules a plus.
  • Technical aptitude to fully understand and obtain the knowledge required to effectively collaborate with members.
  • Experience in or with a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) or community health centers is a plus.
  • Experience with revenue cycle best practice for Acute Care centers is required.
  • Change management skills and experience highly desired.
  • Proven success in internal and external relationship management with all levels of expertise from administrative to executive.
  • Strong consulting, education and/or presentation skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, intercultural, and customer service skills.

Work Location and Travel Requirements

OCHIN is a 100% remote organization with no physical corporate office location. Employees work remotely from home and many of our positions also support our member organizations on-site for new software installations. Nationwide travel is determined based on OCHIN business needs. Please inquire during the interview process about travel requirements for this position.

Base Pay Overview

The typical offer range for this role is minimum to midpoint, with the midpoint representing the average pay in a national market scope for this position. Please keep in mind that this range represents the pay range for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual salary offer will consider a wide range of factors directly relevant to this position, including, but not limited to, skills, knowledge, training, responsibility, and experience, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
