This position will work closely with the SHMG administrative leadership team to support strategic projects, develop and report key performance metrics, and provide valuable operations insights to support decision making and optimize practice operations.The SHMG Healthcare Operations analyst can expect to be a key member of strategic projects, identify outliers in datasets, perform predictive modeling and "what-if?" analyses to support new practice development and/or practice optimization work, present operations data and trends to leadership, and help to develop methods to track and measure progress on key initiatives.Primary Functions:1. Operational Oversight- * Data Analysis: Utilize data analytics and metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of current processes and make data-driven recommendations for improvement. * Performance Metrics: Develop and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) and dashboards to track and monitor the performance of various departments and initiatives within the medical group. Report to leadership. * Predictive Modeling: Develop predictive models and forecasting methodologies to anticipate operations trends, patient outcomes and resource utilization. * Root Cause Analysis: Conduct root cause analysis to identify the underlying factors contributing to performance gaps or quality issues and recommend actionable insights for improvement. * Data Governance: Ensure data integrity, accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements, privacy standards and best practices in data management. * Training and Education: Provide training and education to staff members on data analysis techniques, tools and best practices to enhance data literacy and analytical capabilities across the organization. * Continuous Learning: Stay abreast of emerging trends, technologies and methodologies in healthcare analytics and apply knowledge to enhance analytical capabilities and drive innovation. 2. Collaboration and Partnership-Engages with internal and external colleagues, providers, and other stakeholders throughout SHMG and Salem Health, contributing to planning, problem solving and system improvement efforts. Provides support for the departments, and works upstream and downstream to collaborate on improving the health and well-being of the people and communities we serve. 3. Risk Management- Ensures legal and regulatory compliance across all related patient care delivery practices through clear standards, support and enforcement. Partner with other leaders across the care continuum to foster a shared vision of optimal patient outcomes while maintaining compliance with local, state, & federal statutes. Proactively identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure successful project delivery. Degree focus in Healthcare Management, Healthcare Informatics, Data Science, Statistics, Accounting, Finance, Economics or related field preferred.Special knowledge, skills, & abilities:Experience with healthcare databases and analytics platforms (e.g., Epic, Cerner, Tableau, Power BI)Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets and generate actionable insightsStrong relationship building and problem solving skills required.Strong communication and interpersonal skills to be effective in working with all levels of employees, leaders, and providers.Strong process improvement and organizational skills with the ability to track and manage multiple projects and priorities.Salem Health Hospitals and Clinics is an equal opportunity employer.
