Job Description

Summary

This supervisor position will lead Graphic Designers, Production, Print and Finishing jobs to meet Columbia Distributing's Sales Rep and Supplier graphics needs. This position requires strong leadership skills with the ability to supervise the work queue, monitor quality, accuracy, and performance of all graphic projects. Build SMART KPIS with tools like Excel and Power BI to drive department success, run monthly and quarterly Metrics to ensure billbacks are completed. Ensure turn around schedules are maintained, and projects proceed according to plans, job specifications and cost estimates.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Supervise a team with a variety of skill sets to meet objectives and department metrics
  • Direct workflow for a team of people in a high-volume production print shop
  • Ensure use of aesthetics and design principles, while exercising independent judgment, to meet product and brand guidelines as well as supplier expectations
  • Direct team to maintain current templates, images, and logos to ensure brand integrity
  • Promote and ensure implementation of productivity tools and practices
  • Actively coordinate priorities with Design team to achieve on time completion of deliverables
  • Ensure proper job management and cost control by preparing and maintaining budgets
  • Manage hiring, training and development, allocation, and annual performance assessments for the graphics team
  • Responsible for graphics production including substrate loading, pre-flight, and outputting prints
  • Accountable for ensuring production lead times are met within department standards
  • Ability to produce graphic design projects and assist team with production as needed
  • Capable of balancing creative aspects of job with fast-paced production requirements to produce large quantities of output on varied medias
  • Handle customer service requests from Sales Team, Suppliers, and other internal departments
  • Provide work-flow documentation, file management and archiving, job tracking and invoicing
  • Manage a high-volume of production under specific time constraints
  • Process and code department invoices adhering to budgets
  • Ensure weekly reporting is completed accurately and posted as required
  • Complete monthly tracking reports and identify any anomalies
  • Provide quarterly reports for accounting bill back processing. Provide any backup data as required by individual suppliers
  • Adhere to all state liquor laws and regulations and enforce compliance
  • Develop and maintain positive, cooperative, and team-oriented relationships with co-workers, supervisors, manager, vendors, suppliers, and others
  • Provide web graphic elements for use with customer facing website to include editing, graphics, content, and link maintenance

This job operates indoors in a professional office setting

Expected Hours of Work

Days/hours may vary. Expected schedule is Monday-Friday

Travel

Minimal maybe 1-2 times per year to local WA/OR branches

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's or graphics degree or equivalent years of experience
  • Minimum (2) years of applicable supervisor experience
  • Minimum (5) years of applicable graphics production work experience
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel and Power BI

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Working knowledge of large-format printing a plus
  • Experience with Sharepoint, Salesforce and Wordpress a plus

Compensation

  • Actual compensation packages are based on a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, years and depth of experience, certifications, and specific location.
