Construction Technical Support Specialist

The construction specialist is a support function for the sales, project & construction management team with task ranging from bid support, technical documentation, spare parts, customer meetings, pre-construction guidance to our customers and BOPs, platform product development & problem solving for advance project execution. As well as a comprehensive focus on the standardization and use of Procore on site, and documentation integration with Di-Lan, and upkeep and development of Installation Documents.

Responsibilities:

  • Act as a primary interface between Construction and Engineering via Construction related TSL tickets
  • Perform advanced troubleshooting and diagnostics to include use of technical documentation and advanced tools e.g. VOB/SQL/VDAT/VOT/GLD etc.; use root cause analysis/fish bone/DMAIC to report and resolve technical issues
  • Manage and monitor the use of Procore on sites.
  • Join or represent the construction manager in internal co-ordination meetings. Join technical meetings with the customer to represent Vestas as needed.
  • Continuously develop installation documents through review and feedback meetings.
  • Interface with documentation owners and support changes for VAME.
  • Review project execution sub-tasks to support the construction manager, such as documentation control, quality control and general construction management tasks in the Stage Gate Model and other tracking programmes.
  • Prepare page turn and technical documentation presentation for our costumer and sub-contractors and contribute to training on site during project kick-offs.
  • Support efforts to ensure that on-site construction quality control measures are in place and are being implemented by Vestas contractors and sub-contractors.
  • Support the management of site construction document quality during the HOTs process and project close-out.
  • Internal follow-up of project related requests and processes, such as facilitating documentation requests, assisting with long-term storage, ECRs, etc.
  • Support efforts to ensure that QSE requirements and guidelines are adhered to at project sites by performing both quality and safety walks.

Qualifications:

  • Experienced in construction installation activities, mechanical completion walkdowns, commissioning, leak checks and troubleshooting. 5-7 years, GWO or equivalent, A-Level Vestas, TBC 300 complete.
  • Proficient with use of Procore.
  • Advanced communication skills, oral and written.
  • Comprehensive computer knowledge, in particular with MS Office products.
  • Ability to step in and understand issues and bring such to a solution with limited input from Management.
  • Good understanding of general contract elements and language interpretation including scope, milestones, payment terms and documentation.
  • Working knowledge of the typical project construction schedules and budgets.
  • Working knowledge of construction activities that have a high level of quality control risk and impacts on HSE.
  • Expert knowledge of Shadow Data editor, VOB / SQL / VDAT / VOT / GLD.
  • Positive collaborative attitude, One Vestas.

Competencies:

  • Advanced communication skills, oral and written.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Excellent computer knowledge, in particular with MS Office products
  • Working knowledge of the typical project construction schedules and budgets.
  • Working knowledge of construction activities that have a high level of quality control risk and impacts on HSE.
