We are currently seeking a Controls Engineer Manager for our Millersburg, Oregon location. You will report to the Senior Manager of Plant Engineering. The Controls Engineer Manager is largely responsible for managing the controls teams as well as reviewing controls designs. You'll need to have practical experience within a heavy industrial engineering industry. The Controls Engineer Manager is responsible for supervising a team of approximately ten employees with broad technical expertise including Control Engineers, Manufacturing System Developers, Manufacturing System Technician, and PLC Technicians.

A Controls Manager is instrumental in driving efficiencies and increased effectiveness and objectives to continue our growth. In order to become successful, you'll have to quickly learn our manufacturing plant and processes. A successful candidate will have strong leadership skills and experience, be comfortable wearing many hats, be able to multi-task and work well under pressure, and have exceptional trouble shooting skills.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Manage the controls support efforts for equipment downtime conditions.
  • Implement designs and process to increase equipment reliability.
  • Manage Companies controls and instrumentation architecture future projects.
  • Evaluate needs and implement a controls obsolescence replacement plan.
  • Develop standardization for documentation of digital control systems such as Delta V, Wonderware, etc.
  • Provide onsite coordination of maintenance personnel, plant engineering, department engineers and outside contractors.
  • Supervise staff engineers in Plant Engineering in the controls disciplines for project development, budget preparation and project execution.
  • Prepare specification for purchase of material, components, systems, services and equipment.


Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline.
  • At least 8 year's controls focused industrial or manufacturing experience.
  • At least 3 years of formal leadership experience.
