Job Description

This position will be part of a Shared Data Platforms team, responsible to partner with customers, collaborate with functional business analysts and other team members in driving appropriate design and implementation of technical solutions to meet desired business requirements. The Senior Scrum Master is an inward facing organizer and facilitator who will work within the project/operations and collaborates with the rest of the support team. This individual will be responsible for facilitating team activities, developing and tracking metrics, and reporting all project activities for 1-2 delivery teams. This individual should have complete end to end understanding of agile project management processes and expert on carving out epics/features/user stories and their lifecycle management. These project activities may include project management responsibilities for initiatives that span across multiple teams. Encouraging and coaching team members (in both IT and the Business) to adhere to Agile values/processes and team norms will be a crucial component of this position.

Essential Functions

Strategy & Planning

  • Champion Agile principles, values, and practices within the teams, Scrum Master community, and Enterprise.
  • Actively participate, both internally and externally, in the Agile community.
  • Facilitate collaborative planning, synchronization, and retrospective activities within the Agile delivery team.
  • Collaborate with external teams / groups to elicit commitment to and facilitate execution of delivery team goals.
  • Collaborate with IT Leadership and Product Owners to promote a shared vision and roadmap.
Acquisition & Deployment
  • Identify and eliminate impediments beyond the team's authority; effectively manage project risks; coordinate and monitor mitigation efforts.
  • Track delivery team process, ensuring sustainable pace and quality.
  • Provide transparency to the team and stakeholders by ensuring metrics are relevant, available, and up-to-date.
  • Prepare and lead presentations to team members and key stakeholders.

Operational Management

  • Create and maintain work effort and budget reports.
  • Provide business reports to management and clients as assigned.
  • Ensure adherence to Agile processes and methodologies.
  • Facilitate the development and accountability of team norms.
  • Promote continuous improvement and self-organization within the Agile delivery team.
  • Mentor Professional Apprentices.
Incidental Functions
  • Assist with other projects as required to contribute to the efficiency and effectiveness of the work.
  • Participate in hiring activities and fulfilling affirmative action obligations and ensuring compliance with the equal employment opportunity policy.

Formal Education & Certification

  • Bachelor's Degree (or foreign equivalent) or in lieu of a degree, at least 12 years in experience in the field of Information Technology or Business (work experience or a combination of education and work experience in the field of Information Technology or Business).
  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM), PMI Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP), or similar preferred.
Knowledge & Experience
  • 5+ years IT and/or Business experience.
  • 5+ years of PM, BA, QA, Developer or business product experience
  • 3+ years of experience with Agile projects
  • Experience contributing to complex operational, IT, or business projects
  • Experience working with external partners.
  • Understanding of servant leadership.
  • Well versed in Microsoft Office applications and Agile Project Management tools.

This position is eligible to work in the office three days a week and has the option to work remotely two days a week.
